Fine Arts Friday: Summer “Selfies”

In the poem this week, we read about a woman who transforms into an island, and on Wednesday, we tried to write a poem comparing ourselves to something else.

Today, we are going to create some self-portraits—but with a twist!

First think of something you love. Maybe you love painting. Or pizza fresh from the oven. Or reading a good book.

Then, draw a picture of yourself transforming into that thing!

Your hair could become the bristles of a paint brush, or your legs could turn into a slice of pizza like some sort of pizza mermaid! Maybe you’re wearing a gorgeous ball gown, but the skirt is made up of the pages of a book!

There are so many options, so be creative! And, as always, we want to see what you create! Post your picture in the comments here or on Facebook or send it to us at hornpondreview@gmail.com!
