Fine Arts Friday: Send a Postcard

IMG_0273.jpeg

This week, inspired by Shakespeare’s sonnet, we have been celebrating love. And what better way to share our love than by actually sending it? With that in mind, create a postcard for a friend or family member!

1.) Make your card and make it into ART

Use a quarter piece of card stock or construction paper. Decide how to decorate it — collage? paint? marker? Often if you buy a post card it has a photograph on it, but you can make yours however you would like.

2.) Write your message

On the other side, you will write your message. Either use what you wrote on Wednesday or write a new letter. A postcard does not have much space, so you want to write a short note. Remember to save space for the address and stamp!

Post Card Set Up

  • Write your message on left of the card.

  • Write the address on the right. It should include the following:

Name
Street Address
City, State Zip Code

3.) Address and stamp your postcard

A postcard is neat because it doesn’t need an envelope, but it definitely still needs instructions. That’s what the address is! It tells the people working at the post office where the card needs to go.

4.) Send it!

Put your beautiful postcard into the mailbox. But before you do, perhaps you would like to share the picture with us?

Share your art!

We would love to see your art. Please share a photo of the front of the postcard in the comments here or on our Facebook page or email it to us at hornpondreview@gmail.com.
